It’s Game On!

We’re making a BIG deal about Jesus!

*Gaining Some Perspective

Our friends over at Scripture Union have recently released some statistical findings which reveal that over 95% of children and young people in the UK are NOT involved in Sunday School.  While some churches are engaging with children and young people in other ways, the statistic is really indicative that our churches are failing to reach this young generation.

We are proud to say that since 2010, we have been helping churches engage with this generation and are seeing some incredible results.  By using VBS (in the UK it’s called Summershine or Holiday Bible Club) as a primer, our partner churches have been able to capitalize on the momentum generated through these outreaches and have built robust child and youth focused programs.  Hundreds of children in South Wales are now benefiting from the interaction they have with older Christians and are learning about and experiencing how Jesus changes lives.

This year, 4 locations hosted hundreds of children and volunteers sharing together the message of Christ.  But don’t just take our word for it, hear it from our Summershine organizers:

“This was the best Summershine so far for Salem - for a number of reasons. Firstly, our church community has never been so involved. We had virtually every church member, plus several non-members who were interested, involved in preparation and delivery.”
~Rev. Dr. Rosa Hunt, Salem Welsh Baptist Chapel

“SummerShine is a big event in the community, looked forward to by many families.  Parents plan their holidays round it so that their children can attend.  During past 16 years 1147 children have heard the Gospel message, for the vast majority of these families it is their only contact with Jesus.  This year again was exceptional with 77 children attending and 30 volunteers making it happen; many families attended the midweek picnic and 40 parents attended the Family Celebration at the end of the week.  Some children who attended the first SummerShine in 2003 are parents themselves and are getting their children involved."
~Territorial Envoy Pam Chick, Llantwit Fardre Salvation Army
